Cancun International Airport (CUN) has been named the "World's Leading Airport in the Caribbean & The Americas" at the 2023 World Travel Awards. This is the third time in four years that CUN has won this award.
The World Travel Awards are considered to be the most prestigious awards in the travel and tourism industry. The awards are voted on by travel professionals from around the world.
Cancun Airport is expecting to see a significant increase in traffic in 2023. The airport is forecasting that over 25 million passengers will travel through CUN in 2023, up from 20 million passengers in 2022.
The increase in traffic is due to a number of factors, including the return of tourism following the COVID-19 pandemic, the addition of new flights, and the opening of new hotels and resorts in Cancun.
The airport is preparing for the increase in traffic by expanding its facilities and hiring more staff. The airport is also working to improve the passenger experience by reducing wait times and improving the flow of traffic through the airport.
